After soliciting a dozen world renowned artists and designers, hiring the first two team members, and learning what a temporary tattoo was actually made of, Tattly began moving at full force. Often referred to as swissmiss, her popular design blog, she also organizes a breakfast series called Creative Mornings, manages a collaborative workspace in DUMBO, is the force behind the simple, browser-based to-do app called TeuxDeux. She had previously worked at several prominent NYC design firms, including Thinkmap, where she served as Design Director and helped design the award-winning Visual Thesaurus.
Launch and Highlights
In July of 2011, Tattly launched online, featuring an all-star lineup of professional designers and illustrators. Starting with just a handful of designs, Tattly received thousands of orders from around the world. After which in August 20111, Tattly shipped its first wholesale order. Moving on to February 2012, hey received their 10,000th online order! On their first anniversary in July 2012, they launched an epic sale, bringing orders like an avalanche. After which they released new packaging for Sets, featuring Julia’s beautiful photography in August 2012. In October 2012, Tattly’s products were given out at Martha Stewart’s Bridal Market event.
Her aesthetics reveal her Swiss roots and she is a firm believer in white space and clean, elegant design. At Tattly, they believe that great design and art can make people happy.
